SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2018 51 We monitor the energy consumption and GHG emissions per vehicle in line with our goals. Furthermore, we monitor the energy consumption in our factories in real-time thanks to our smart factory applications. Therefore, we are able to make the necessary corrections in the fastest way possible if we are below the level of goals we set for ourselves. Our smart factory applications enable automation in energy consumption and enable us to optimise our resource consumption. At Ford Otosan, we have been the most efficient production line of Ford Europe in terms of energy consumption per vehicle in the last two years. We continue our efforts to achieve the “Green IT” goal at the IT centre which is among the highest energy consumption areas. Hence, we transformed four of our data centres to ecologic data centres. We commissioned next generation smart systems instead of devices that need high energy consumption in order to cool down the data centres. Thanks to this system, it is possible to pump the ambient air inside in line with the ambient air temperature; thus, create efficiency in energy. Moreover, we work on moving all our processes to digital platforms by making use of cloud technology. Thus, traditional processes leave their places to digital processes; as a result, reduction in electricity and emission amounts and increase in operational efficiency become possible. 2016 2017 2018 Target (2021) GHG emission per vehicle (ton CO 2 e/vehicle) 0.58 0.53 0.53 0.52 Energy consumption per vehicle (GJ/vehicle) 5.86 5.93 5.42 5.23 GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS PER VEHICLE PRODUCED (TON CO 2 E/VEHICLE) Achieved Goal 0.6 0.58 0.56 0.52 0.54 0.5 0.48 2016 2017 2018 2021 0.58 0.53 0.53 0.56 0.56 0.52 0.58 ENERGY CONSUMPTION PER VEHICLE PRODUCED (GJ/VEHICLE) Achieved Goal 6.0 5.8 5.6 5.2 5.4 5.0 4.8 2016 2017 2018 2021 5.86 5.93 5.9 5.68 5.68 5.42 5.23 Ford Otosan Engineering and Test Facilities
