50 Environment and Energy Management Global climate change and rapid population increase create a significant pressure on natural resources. This is a concern for the sustainability of many sectors and automotive is among those sectors as well. It is critical to review business activities from the perspective of the fight against global climate change and rapidly implement the necessary changes in line with environmental responsibilities. Thus, we place great importance on environment and energy management and we develop all our operations in a way that would create the minimum environmental impact. Through our practices to reduce the adverse environmental impacts by using resources in an effective way, we contribute to the Responsible Consumption and Production and Climate Action goals among the Sustainable Development Goals. We continuously follow up our performance in order to effectively manage our environmental impacts. Along with our direct environmental impacts due to our operations, we also consider our indirect impacts due to our supplier chain and products as part of performance monitoring. We manage both our own activities and our suppliers in line with our environmental responsibility. We transparently disclose our environmental performance to all our stakeholders as part of Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change and Water programs in line with our climate strategy. By taking our performance into account, we evaluate all our processes in line with our activities in the areas of digitalisation, R&D and innovation and minimise our negative environmental impacts. For an efficient environment and energy management, we do not limit ourselves to the in-house policies and practices, and we carry out all our activities in compliance with the international standards. We manage all our products and services as part of ISO 14001:2015 Environment Management System and ISO 50001 Energy Management System. Also, to manage our indirect environmental impacts, we require our suppliers to have ISO 14001:2015 Environment Management System certificate as a prerequisite of working together since we place importance on the improvement of their performance. We do not limit audits with yearly controls of ISO certificates, but we support the management of these processes with crosschecks within the company. In 2018, our total environmental investments and expenses reached to TRY 9.1 million. We achieved an increase of approximately 10% compared to 2017. We place great importance on environment and energy management and we develop all our operations in a way that would create the minimum environmental impact. ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
