SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2018 47 FORD SYNC On board multimedia system Ford SYNC supports safe driving with its voice command feature that enables controls without needing to take your hands off the steering wheel. Furthermore, Ford SYNC’s “Emergency Assistance” feature enables the vehicle to contact 112 Emergency Hotline in case of an accident and transfer the coordinates to the emergency response team. The latest version of SYNC technology, SYNC 3, has a feature that enables access to banking application over the on board multimedia system as a first in the world. In partnership with Yapı Kredi Bank, Yapı Kredi Bank’s application has been adapted to SYNC 3. Thus, users are able to carry out their banking transactions through voice commands on Yapı Kredi. REZERVIS Rezervis, which gathers people who live and work in close proximity together and creates on- demand routes, was created as part of our internal entrepreneurship works carried out under the “Smart Mobility” theme of Fikirhane platform. Ford Otosan has 25% share in Rezervis Mobil Teknoloji A.Ş. which is the first and sole project that was commercialised and transformed into a separate venture. Starting its operations as of 2018 with the purpose of benefiting from the identified market potential, the company reached 14 active routes as of the end of 2018. EasyRoute We contribute to increasing the transportation ecosystem’s efficiency and decreasing its environmental impacts with the EasyRoute application which was developed with the purpose of developing transportation solutions for smart cities of the future. With EasyRoute mobile application, users benefit from current and future traffic estimations and our navigation service. With an algorithm developed as part of future traffic estimation, EasyRoute assesses various factors that may affect the traffic conditions such as past traffic data, weather conditions, national holidays and social activities. Thus, the application is able to suggest traffic estimates for the next 24 hours. At Ford Otosan, we developed “the world’s first mobile navigation” application with EasyRoute that has been implemented by an automotive company. EasyRoute has been downloaded by approximately 350,000 people until today. Furthermore, our application was awarded with the second prize in the Creative Innovators category of the Koç Group’s Most Successful Koç Employees Awards.
