SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2018 45 PREDICTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM We enable the vehicle to move in accordance to the road conditions ahead with the Predictive Cruise Control system which uses GPS connection. With the system which is included in F-MAX, our first connected heavy-duty commercial vehicle, we support less fuel consumption and thus reduction in GHG emissions. OPTITRUCK The purpose of optiTruck project, which is supported by European Union’s Horizon2020 program, was mitigation of GHG emissions in heavy-duty commercial vehicles. The project was carried out with the participation of 11 organisations and companies from 7 countries in Europe and has the goal to produce the prototype of a vehicle that improves energy consumption by more than 20% compared to the energy consumption of a heavy-duty commercial vehicle at Euro 6 standards. By evaluating environmental data such as road and weather conditions that we track over our next generation, connected truck F-MAX, we will contribute to the optimisation of fuel consumption in optiTruck project. The purpose of optiTruck project, which is supported by European Union’s Horizon2020 program, was mitigation of GHG emissions in heavy-duty commercial vehicles. SYNCMy Fleet With our SYNC My Fleet mobile application, we enable route optimisation for fleets and reduce fuel consumption, consequently GHG emissions in the package distribution processes. The applications facilitate processes both for drivers and fleet managers. Thanks to the application in which drivers receive scores according to their driving styles, fuel economy is encouraged in driving. We assessed the measurable benefits of the route optimisation during the first pilot test we carried out with PTT according to a cargo distribution scenario. Application enabled time saving up to 20% and fuel saving up to 26%. During the pilot study that we carried out with Türk Telekom, we calculated the impacts of revenue in a business model based on route optimisation as well as driver behaviours on fuel consumption. The results revealed fuel savings of approximately 50% and 19% in the route optimisation-based test and driver behaviour model, respectively. We will transform the application which we promoted at Barcelona World Mobile Congress into a corporate application in the following period.
