20 SUSTAINABILITYMANAGEMENT We work in a planned and systematic way to improve our sustainability performance in social, environmental, economic and governance fields. Thus, we established the Sustainability Committee in 2015 to be in charge of implementation of sustainability strategy and policy. The Committee informs the Board of Directors on the measures to be taken to ensure implementation of sustainability principles, areas that may create opportunities and results of the actions. Sustainability Policies consist of policies on the principles of working, environment and energy, anti-corruption, ethics, health and safety. As a result of our successful sustainability performance, we are listed in Borsa Istanbul Sustainability Index, one of the significant indexes consisting of responsible investors, and FTSE4Good Emerging Indexes. Furthermore, we disclose our performance to the public by participating in climate and water programs of Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). Roles of the Sustainability Committee Preparing “Sustainability Road Map” in compliance with the accepted strategy and policy and taking action for the assigned responsibilities during the process, Preparing the “Sustainability Strategy and Policy” of the company and taking action for the assigned responsibilities during the process, Checking whether all stakeholders are communicated and provided training on sustainability strategy, policy and goals, and whether all necessary procedures, actions and implementations are implemented, and reporting all related data, Preparing examples of sustainable product and service options by assessing environmental and social impacts and value creation potential of products and services, Coming up with suggestions related to updating sustainability strategy, policy and goals and following up on updating works.
